Firms urged to embrace flexible working
Both companies and their employees benefit from the proper implementation of effective flexible working practices, an expert has said.
According to Tony Grace, chief operating officer of Virgin Media Business, it is vital for firms to adapt to the evolving business environment in the 21st century by embracing greater levels of flexibility.
Yesterday (May 14th) marked the beginning of National Work Wise Week 2012 and research conducted by Work Wise ahead of this event revealed that 62 per cent of staff would embrace flexible working on the grounds it would mean they could avoid commuting to the office.
Meanwhile, a study from Virgin Media found that 72 per cent of professionals believe that face-to-face meetings will soon become a thing of the past.
With this in mind, Mr Grace commented: "Our research shows a huge groundswell of interest in remote working driving companies to look more carefully at how they can be more flexible in the way in which they work."
