Cycling accident claim launched by journalist
A man is seeking substantial cycling accident compensation following a collision that left him with multiple broken bones.
James Moore is taking legal action after an incident last February in which he was knocked off his vehicle by a petrol tanker while he was on his way home in Wood Green, London.
This accident left the 40-year-old with fractures to his left leg, pelvis and ribs, as well as a collapsed lung as he was dragged under the vehicle.
During a case heard at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court, the journalist - who was put into a medically-induced coma for three weeks after the incident - stated he now struggles with post-traumatic stress and also has to use a wheelchair.
"I remember screaming 'stop, stop' ... then I can remember being under the lorry and in considerable pain," he said.
Consequently, he is pursuing damages from the tanker driver's insurers on the grounds of his negligence.
