Mother seeking clinical negligence compensation for son
Clinical negligence compensation in excess of £300,000 is being sought by a mother on behalf of her son, who sustained life-changing injuries at his birth.
According to the Tottenham & Wood Green Journal, Khalid Johnson now suffers from cerebral palsy and other serious neurological issues after he was starved of oxygen during delivery at The Whittington Hospital three years ago.
His mother Summerlyn Farquharson claims this is due to the negligence of medical staff at the institution, as she says that her son was starved of oxygen for a total of 48 minutes after being born via an emergency caesarean section.
It has since been confirmed that the boy will need constant care for the rest of his life as he cannot use his limbs properly due to brain damage.
This comes after the BBC reported that teenager Tahlia Jade Downes has been awarded £4 million in damages because of complications at her delivery.
