Engineer seeking £750k in personal injury compensation
A personal injury compensation claim of £750,000 is to be lodged by a lift engineer after an accident at work left him with several broken bones.
According to the Hastings & St Leonards Observer, George Harrison sustained numerous injuries including a fractured leg and shoulder when he fell seven metres while operating on a lift in East Sussex.
Consequently, the 36-year-old is seeking significant damages from his former employer Otis - a global company with some 61,000 employees across the world - in order to compensate for his ordeal
Mr Harrison's injuries were caused when the platform he was working on gave way beneath him, causing his fall to the bottom of the shaft in the Halton Heights building in Hastings.
As a result of this incident, which occurred three years ago, the worker had to undergo complex plastic surgery to repair the damage caused to his face and now suffers with low self-esteem.
