David Beckham has come up against fresh accusations about his private life as he sues a magazine publisher for sex allegations with the help of defamation solicitors.
The footballer has filed a £16 million libel writ against In Touch Weekly and Bauer after it was suggested that he had a late-night tryst with a 26-year-old Bosnian prostitute named Irmi Nici.
At the time of the claims made by Ms Nici, Beckham said that the allegations were "utter nonsense", before confirming his plans to sue the publication for defamation.
Fresh allegations emerged last night (November 29th 2010) when the publishing company used the privilege of court to make new suggestions about his private life.
A source close to the former England captain said: "This is a smokescreen and it is not going to hold up in court."
It was added that Beckham is "not backing down".
