Head injury accident victim wins compensation
A man who sustained brain damage as a result of a road accident has been awarded compensation for his suffering.
In May 2006, Nazer Ahadi was on his way to work at Hayden Bakeries when he was involved in a head-on collision with another motorist.
It was initially thought that he would not be able to walk again due to the extent of the injuries he suffered.
However, he was gradually able to regain the ability to use his legs and was able to walk into the High Court in London to hear the verdict on his case.
He is to receive a lump sum payment of £2.3 million and will get a further index-linked and tax free sum of £145,000 for the rest of his life.
Mr Ahadi, who was just 22 years old when the accident occurred, was a refugee from the south-east Asian county of Afghanistan.
