A man who was sacked from his position as temporary accommodation manager at Ealing Council has been awarded compensation.
Lindsay Deveney successfully managed to claim unfair dismissal and he has received a considerable sum from the local authority - which is headquartered in Perceval House on Uxbridge Road.
At the age of 51, the former temporary accommodation manager lost his position after his involvement in a scheme which involved the charity Safe Haven buying 200 homes and leasing them to the council.
The plan was supposed to be cost effective but lost £180,000 in its first year.
Following an investigation, Mr Deveney was sacked - a move which he argued made him a scapegoat.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: "We have noted that in this case the tribunal believed the council did not meet its expectations."
It has already paid out £63,000 and more may be sought by Mr Deveney.
