An ex-fund manager has won the right to pursue a payout claim at an employment tribunal over alleged workplace bullying.
Patrick Evershed is seeking compensation over constructive dismissal under the whistleblower act.
In September 2008, the 67-year-old left New Star Asset Management - which was acquired by the Henderson Group earlier this year.
The firm was founded by John Duffield.
Mr Evershed said: "I have complained about the way Duffield and his senior people bullied.
"It is almost the story of how New Star collapsed. Duffield made life impossible for us."
Previously, he had been told he could not pursue a compensation claim because it had been filed incorrectly and had overrun a time limit.
However, he recently won an appeal against that decision and it is reported that the former fund manager could be in line for a payout of up to £1 million if he is successful.
