Holidaymakers seek compensation after jeep accident
Two holidaymakers have begun legal proceedings in a bid to secure compensation from a tour operator after they were injured while on an organised excursion.
Husband and wife Gagandeep and Jasmail Singh were in Ortaca, which is located near the east coast of Turkey, and were travelling on a jeep along with a group of tourists when the vehicle suddenly swerved.
Two of the passengers were killed and seven others suffered serious injuries.
Among them was Mr Singh, who sustained a broken nose, jaw, cheekbone and damage to several teeth. The 29-year-old subsequently had to have his jaw wired.
Commenting on his ordeal, he said: "I am extremely thankful to be alive, but it has been a very traumatic experience. I still have to receive treatment for the injuries I sustained," the Hounslow Chronicle reports.
Meanwhile, Sarigerme Tours denies that the accident occurred as a result of carelessness on the part of the driver.
