Man sues former girlfriend after losing leg in accident
A man is seeking compensation from his former girlfriend and her insurers after an accident resulted in him losing his leg.
According to the South Wales Argus, Luke Jones was on holiday with his ex-partner Amber Mounty in Australia when the incident occurred.
She was allegedly driving a golf buggy up a steep slope on Hamilton Island off the east coast of Queensland when she lost control and the vehicle overturned, trapping Mr Jones.
The 25-year-old underwent a series of operations but medics were unable to save his leg and he was forced to have it amputated.
He also experienced further complications, contracting the hospital superbug MRSA at one stage.
Mr Jones is now said to be seeking compensation of more than £300,000, claiming that his position on the open labour market has been compromised.
In addition, he says that he has suffered psychological injuries as a result of the accident.
