A woman who suffered neurological damage after being struck by a car is to receive hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation, it has emerged.
Nina Justham was driving on the B4033 in the south-east home county of Buckinghamshire prior to the accident, the Gainsborough Standard reports.
She was suffering from a lack of visibility due to sunlight and, as she approached the crest of a hill, she was forced to swerve to avoid hitting a cyclist.
In so doing, she struck an oncoming car.
Ms Justham subsequently got out of her vehicle to discuss the collision with the driver and the cyclist when another car came over the hill and hit her.
During a recent hearing, a settlement was reached by the motorist's insurers on the basis of 75 per cent liability.
Ms Justham's injuries were so severe that she is now classified as a protected party and as incapable of managing her own affairs.
