Man wins payout after fall at work causes injury to foot
A man has been awarded compensation after he sustained an injury to his foot while at work.
Michael Fincham fell from a three-level gantry at the King's Lynn premises of European packaging provider CPC Packaging.
As a result of the accident, he broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, as well as suffering damage to his shoulder.
It was recently decided that the 63-year-old should be awarded a payout of £6,750.
Commenting on the incident, Mr Fincham said: "The lower platform on the gantry was not secure and I lost my footing and fell heavily. I was immediately in a lot of pain and could not walk," the Lynn News reports.
He went on to claim that he had to spend a week in bed following the fall and then relied on crutches for some time following this.
In addition, the worker says he now walks with a permanent limp.
