McCartney and Mills to face each other in divorce hearing
Former Beetle Sir Paul McCartney is to face his estranged wife Heather Mills during a five-day high court hearing, it has been reported.
The split, which follows four years of marriage, is anticipated to become one of the most costly divorce settlements in British legal history.
Mills is reportedly set to make her own defence speech in court and cross-examine her spouse when he enters the witness box.
The hearing, which concerns the financial aspects of the separation, will be a private affair.
Last month, reports suggested that McCartney was reconsidering the possibility of reaching a settlement outside of the courts, but it now appears as though the pair have failed to reach a consensus.
A high court judge will decide how much money the former model is entitled to. Custody and financial arrangements for the pair's young daughter Beatrice must also be agreed.
