Will I Need to Pay Anything if i Make a Personal Injury Claim?
After an injury, worrying about the potential costs of a personal injury claim should be the last thing on your mind.
People who are injured in an accident where someone else is at fault – whether it be an accident in a public place, a road collision, an accident at work or an accident due to a faulty product – have the right to claim personal injury compensation, which can help them pay for essential medical treatment and other out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result of their injury.
It’s a shame to think that there are many people out there who, despite having a legitimate claim, decide not to pursue it because they worry that it will cost them money. At Slater and Gordon, we offer a completely free initial consultation and can advise you on all the various options for funding your personal injury claim.
Some insurance policies, for example car insurance and household contents insurance, offer legal cover to their customers as an additional extra.
If you have this insurance covering legal expenses then you can call to instruct us straight away. Don’t worry if your insurance company is trying hard to get you to use their own claims handlers, you are perfectly within your right to choose Slater and Gordon to act for you.
No Win, No Fee Agreements
If you don’t have this insurance cover already then don’t worry, as we can act for you on the basis of a No Win No Fee agreement.
No Win, No Fee agreements – also known as Conditional Fee Agreements – are used in most of our personal injury claims. They are a simple way of dealing with the legal costs involved in your personal injury claim and means that there is absolutely no financial risk to you whatsoever.
Under such agreements, you pay us absolutely nothing – win or lose. Your solicitor agrees to take no payment until the end of the case and will not be paid if the claim is unsuccessful. If you do successfully settle your claim, we may take a ‘success fee’ – a percentage of your compensation – but, again, this is not until the end of the case and you won’t have to make any upfront payments.
When you call us for a free consultation, we can explain in detail what’s involved with a No Win, No Fee agreement, will fully explain about fees and will explain other funding options available to you.
For a free consultation, call Slater and Gordon Lawyers on 0800 916 9046 – our phone lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, contact us online and we’ll get back to you.
