Holiday Food Poisoning Compensation Claim Experts
The Holiday Accidents and Illnesses Abroad Lawyers at Slater and Gordon have extensive experience in acting for people that have suffered illnesses as a result of food poisoning at resorts and hotel restaurants overseas.
Slater and Gordon have previously acted on behalf of a group of holidaymakers at the Riu Bachata Hotel in the Dominican Republic. The complex case involved 307 people falling ill, the majority of whom had booked through Thomson, with nine booking through Thomas Cook. Seven pathogens were confirmed though the hotel claimed it was simply a case of ‘Travellers’ Diarrhoea’ or norovirus. Holidaymakers complained of poor hygiene standards, including food being left on the buffet for hours, fresh food being directly placed on top of less-fresh food, with chicken meat left pink in the middle.
Slater and Gordon Holiday Accidents and Illnesses Abroad Lawyer, Sharon Rowles, commented, “It’s very distressing to learn that an establishment has failed to learn from previous shortcomings that left many people ill. Ultimately it is consumers who pay the price.”
Group holiday food poisoning compensation claims are common as often the bacteria are easily transported from one person to another in close proximities. For more information on this see our previous blog, here.
