Deferred Prosecution Agreements Consultation Published

The UK Government’s response to the consultation relating to Deferred Prosecution Agreements was published yesterday.

Slater and Gordon Lawyers (formerly Russell Jones & Walker) provided one of the 75 responses to HM Government on the consultation. 

There was strong support for the proposals with 86% of respondents agreeing that Deferred Prosecution Agreements have the potential to improve the way that economic crime committed by organisations is dealt with. 

The UK Government now intends to bring forward legislation to introduction Deferred Prosecution Agreements in England and Wales via the Crime and Courts Bill which is currently making its way through Parliament.
