Get to know Mark
I'm a principal lawyer at Slater and Gordon in Manchester with over 29 years' experience specialising in all aspects of civil litigation and proceedings.
My particular area of specialism is in higher value and complex personal injury claims, with a bias towards employer liability claims.
I've had many highlights during my career including representing numerous clients who've suffered historical and institutional child abuse. These were high profile cases which have been reported on both nationally and locally.
I was shortlisted for Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards 2017. I was also nominated for a British Citizen Award for services to the community in 2018 and was recognised by the BCA's Independent Assessment Panel in 2019 as making an outstanding contribution through my charity work.
The extra mile
In my spare time I sit on the Greater Manchester Bench as a Magistrate / Justice of the Peace.
In January 2020 I was appointed by the Greater Manchester Bench to the Crown Court Appeals Panel, to hear appeals against conviction and sentence in criminal cases and in May 2020 I was appointed by the Lord Chief Justice to sit on the Northern Circuit as a Deputy District Judge (Civil).
I'm involved in a significant amount of charity work and have provided pro bono advice and assistance to a number of children's charities including Action For Children. I also support the military charity Help For Heroes.
