Teenager paralysed in road traffic accident awarded compensation

14 December 2017

A teenager who was left paralysed when her friend’s car crashed has been awarded £13.25 million in compensation.

What happened: Our client was a passenger in her friend’s car when they steered off the road and into a tree.

Impact: Our client suffered a spinal injury, which left her paralysed from the chest down and requiring 24-hour care for the rest of her life.

How Slater and Gordon helped: Liability was not in question in this case but the settlement amount was strongly contested. We sought evidence from a wide range of experts relating to the client's medical situation and her care and accommodation needs now and in the future. As a result of this evidence, compensation was awarded to our client.
