Worker injured in ice slip awarded five-figure settlement
02 June 2017
A five-figure settlement was paid to an employee who suffered painful injuries when she slipped on ice at work.
What happened: Our client slipped on ice and fell causing injury to her shoulder whilst at work. There were no warnings or notices about this danger provided by her employer.
Impact: As a result of the accident our client sustained an injury to her shoulder, as well as psychological symptoms. She was unable to return to work for a period of time and underwent physiotherapy treatment.
How Slater and Gordon helped: We obtained supportive medical evidence which confirmed that our client had suffered an exacerbation to an underlying condition, in addition to a recognised psychological condition. A five-figure settlement was achieved including a figure for loss of earnings and care and assistance provided by family.
