Injured cyclist awarded compensation after collision

28 June 2017

A cyclist injured in a road traffic collision was awarded a four-figure settlement for damages that meant he was unable to work.

What happened: Our client was on his bicycle when the defendant’s vehicle collided with him while turning left into a side road.

Impact: Our client injured his shoulder, resulting in a permanent lump. He had to take three weeks off work, meaning he suffered a loss of earnings.

How Slater and Gordon helped: We obtained evidence and brought a claim against the defendant’s insurers for the loss of earnings and finances to repair his broken bicycle. The defendant admitted liability in the first instance and made a reasonable first offer which our client accepted. The claim settled in four months.
