Slater and Gordon solicitor Nic Collins secured damages for a CTC member who was knocked off his bike and injured his hip and shoulder.

Slater and Gordon Fee Earner: Nic Collins is a senior personal injury lawyer at Slater and Gordon in Cardiff.

Settlement Value: £39,500

What Happened: Our client, a CTC member, was cycling along a main road when the defendant driver drove into the back of him, knocking him from his bike.

He sustained injuries to his hip and shoulder and required surgery.

How Slater and Gordon Helped: Prior to the accident, our client looked after his elderly mother but his injuries meant that he was no longer able to do this.

We argued that our client should be compensated for this as someone else now had to care for his mother.

We also secured compensation for our client to cover the cost of possible future surgery and the cost of someone else having to look after his elderly mother’s garden, as our client was now unable to do so.

Decision: The claim settled in favour of our client who was awarded £39,500 compensation.
