Work Accident Amounts to £6,500 Compensation for Worker
31 March 2015
Slater and Gordon Personal Injury Lawyer Matthew Tomlinson successfully secured £6,500 in compensation for a man who was injured in a work accident.
Matthew’s client was following instructions from his supervisor to remove a cap but in doing so Matthew’s client sustained scald and burn injuries from the hot water.
Liability was denied on the basis that Matthew’s client was not following the training he had been provided but Matthew’s client was following the instructions of his supervisor.
Matthew issued proceedings and went through some lengthy negotiations with the insurers. They eventually agreed that it wasn’t down to Matthew’s client not following training; it was down to the cap being defective.
The insurers admitted liability in full once Court proceedings had commenced and Matthew settled the case for £6,500 in compensation for his client.
