Family Lawyer Helped Father Get Contact with Children
18 July 2014
Slater and Gordon Family Lawyer Caroline Watson successfully obtained a Contact Order for her client who was working in Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.
Caroline's client works as an interpreter for the Armed Forces and returned home in November for a period of leave to find his wife and the children had moved out of the family home to an unknown address.
His own attempts to try and arrange contact with his four children had failed and therefore in February 2014 he instructed Caroline to help him regain contact. Tracing agents were able to locate the wife’s address and quickly Caroline set about communicating with the wife to try and arrange telephone calls and Skype contact.
The wife was not however agreeable to any contact and therefore Caroline promptly issued a Contact Application and application to list the first hearing during her client’s next period of leave. A hearing took place three weeks later and an order was made for Caroline's client to have regular Skype contact and subsequently since the hearing, negotiations have continued and her client is also now having direct contact during his periods of leave.
