Holiday Food Poisoning Compensation of £25,500 Paid to Family after Holiday in Spain

27 June 2012

This holiday food poisoning compensation case was successfully dealt with by Personal Injury Solicitor Matthew Tomlinson, who specialises in food poisoning cases abroad.

In this case a family of 15 people were struck down with Cryptosporidium food poisoning while they were on holiday at a hotel in Majorca, Spain.

The hotel the family were staying in was very dirty and their holiday was ruined when they all suffered severe stomach cramps/upset stomach.

When the family returned to the UK they filed a holiday food poisoning claim against the tour operators but liability and causation were denied, and so legal proceedings were issued against the tour operators.

Matthew successfully negotiated a compensation settlement in the global sum of £25,500 with individual awards of between £1,250 and £2,000 depending upon the severity of the food poisoning symptoms.
