Woman Awarded Compensation for Injuries to Elbow Following Slip at Work

23 August 2010

Our client was walking down a carpeted corridor at the school which she worked at. At the end of the corridor, a cleaner was cleaning the floor meaning that the floor was slippery.  A warning sign had been set out however this was not in view to our client. As our client stepped onto the surface, she lost her footing and fell.
The injuries which our client suffered meant that she had to undergo surgery to her elbow on several occasions, which required her to have pins inserted.  She also had to attend physiotherapy. Following the operations, it became apparent that our client had suffered nerve injuries at the level of her cervical spine. It is estimated that the ongoing symptoms which our client suffers from will now persist permanently.  Compensation of £10,000 was awarded.
