Compensation Awarded to Man Injured at Work Due to Insufficient Training
23 August 2010
Our client suffered personal injury whilst monitoring the perimeter fence at work. It was night time which meant that the work had to be carried out in torch-light. Our client tripped over a wet railway sleeper and suffered an injury to his hand and wrist, which he stretched out to break his fall. Our client had had no training on railway health and safety. Had this been available to him, he would have known not to have stepped on the railway sleeper in accordance with that training. The Civil Nuclear Police accepted liability, and the case was concluded by amicable negotiation. With help from our expert health and safety solicitors, our client was awarded almost £5,000.
