Indefinite stay of proceedings for client accused of dishonesty

01 March 2010

Our client faced a number of serious allegations and was accused of dishonesty in relation to, amongst other matters, breaches of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the breach of an undertaking given to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

In difficult and protracted proceedings lasting over four years the matter was concluded in 2009 when, following extensive representations and our having obtained expert medical evidence, our team successfully obtained an indefinite stay of proceedings on the grounds of our client’s ill health.
