Successful acquittal of market abuse charges for senior bond trader
09 February 2010
Our client, a senior bond trader at a global investment bank, was a senior member of a team that developed an innovative trading strategy for trading bonds. When the strategy was first executed it resulted in significant profits. These profits (and losses for other financial institutions) led to an FSA investigation into alleged market abuse and we [our Employment and Business Regulation teams working together] were able to assist our client in both that investigation and related internal disciplinary proceedings. Through our advice and representation, our client was ultimately cleared of all charges.
