£4.3 million settlement for elderly RTA victim
18 May 2009
The client's injuries were such that 24 hour care and regular therapy in the form of neuro-physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy was required. Extensive evidence was obtained from 13 experts and 17 witnesses. A Brain Injury Case Manager was appointed at an early stage and a 24 hour care regime put in place.
The client's pre accident accommodation was unsuitable for her extensive needs following the accident and was incapable of being adapted. Consequently a suitable property had to be identified, purchased, adapted and equipped.
The settlement comprised a lump sum of £1.6 million and periodical payments in respect of care and case management at £196,000 per annum.
