Accident at work leaves man with severe brain injury
22 March 2008
Gurdeep was working at an airport refilling a plane with catering supplies. He fell from the rear of the aircraft whilst helping to close the access door, landing 20 feet down on the tarmac. His brain injury means he has been left with reduced motivation and can’t work normal hours
. With support from his family and professional help he has undertaken vocational rehabilitation
and now works part time in a shop. His employers initially denied liability, saying he should not have tried to close the door. We proved it was normal practice for catering staff to do this and Gurdeep received a full award.
