Compensation award helps client live independently
26 September 2007
Debby was only 17 when a drunk driver left the road and hit her as she walked back from the shops with her friends. Paralysed from the neck downwards, she was in hospital for 6 months. When she returned home we obtained interim payments to adapt her family house in the short term and meantime bought and adapted a large property so she could live together
with her parents and young brothers. The adaptations are described by our care experts as "state of the art". She lives independently
with two residential carers but has her family on hand if she wants them. She is taking college courses
and hopes to be able to learn to drive.
