Man injured on building site able to secure family's future

28 February 2007

David had little experience of building work when he agreed to act as a labourer "cash in hand" for someone he knew. The builder asked him to stand on scaffolding and manhandle a heavy steel joist into the roof of a house he was extending. David lost his balance and fell 12 feet onto a concrete floor suffering a brain injury. He has made a very good physical recovery but he can’t work any more and needs a buddy to encourage him to get out to the gym. He loves his family and is pleased he has secured their financial future with an award of £750,000.
