On 2nd December 2003, the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 (the ‘2003 Regulations’) came into force.

This legislation implemented the religious discrimination aspects of the EC Equal Treatment Framework Directive, and it applied to England, Scotland and Wales. As of 1st October 2010, all existing equality legislation (including the 2003 Regulations) was consolidated into the Equality Act 2010 (‘The Act’).
