Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (the DDA) imposed legal obligations on those who provide goods, facilities and services to the public. The provisions sought to ensure that disabled people are not treated less favourably than other customers.
As of 2010 most equality legislation (including the DDA) was consolidated into the Equality Act 2010 (‘The Act’). Provisions relating to equality in relation to services provision (as it is now described in ‘The Act’) is contained within Part 3 of ‘The Act’.
