Senior Associate Solicitor
I am part of Slater and Gordon’s friendly Manchester team dealing with Police and union backed employment and pensions-related claims.
Get to know Sharon
I joined Slater and Gordon’s employment law department in January 2014 and have more than 20 years’ experience, having qualified as a solicitor in 2000.
I specialise in handling cases at employment tribunal and have expertise in claims for discrimination, whistleblowing and police law including police pensions.
Among my career highlights, I’ve successfully pursued an equal pay victimisation claim on behalf of 39 dinner ladies to the House of Lords (as it was then) in Derbyshire v St Helen’s Council; and have secured an injury award top-up to an ill health pension for a Police Officer amounting to over £400,000.
I have been recognised by independent legal guide, the Legal 500, in 2020 as a 'Key Lawyer' and the department is ranked as Tier 1.
The extra mile
I speak some French and Spanish and a tiny bit of Urdu and Japanese having lived overseas while working in the Foreign Office.
I’m also a member of the Law Society, the North West Employment Tribunal Users Group and a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA).
