Chartered Legal Executive
My biggest motivation is providing a compassionate service for our clients, who require our assistance at what is often the worst time of their lives. This includes providing quality legal advice, support and securing funds for rehabilitation and loss of income, to allow peace of mind during the litigation process and financial security in the future.
Get to know Nicole
In 2016, I joined the serious injury department at Slater and Gordon, Manchester. In that time, I have assisted senior solicitors on catastrophic and fatal injury claims. I have a broad experience in handling claims for clients who have sustained complex traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, psychological injury (including post-traumatic stress disorder), severe orthopaedic injury, chronic pain and fatal injury cases.
Whilst my main area of expertise is road traffic collision claims (including claims against the Motor Insurers' Bureau), I also have experience of handling employers’ liability claims, public liability claims and claims against the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (to obtain compensation for victims of criminal injuries).
I have trial experience, including attendance at the Court of Appeal.
In 2021, I qualified as a charted legal executive.
Whilst assisting senior solicitors, I have played a significant part in a securing millions of pounds in compensation, including:
- Securing £12.6m on behalf of a young cyclist who sustained a traumatic brain injury following a road traffic accident, requiring institutionalised care/rehabilitation for life;
- Securing £7.9m on behalf of an incomplete spinal cord injury client, who was a front seat passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a road traffic collision. Contributory negligence was raised due to the non-wearing of a seatbelt;
- Securing £3.5m on behalf for a client who sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of road traffic collision. Contributory negligence was raised after it was alleged that our client knowingly got into a vehicle where the Defendant was intoxicated; and
- Securing 1.3m for an elderly pedestrian who sustained an incomplete spinal cord injury involved in a road traffic collision. Contributory negligence was raised following an allegation that our client had stepped out between parked cars.
I also assisted on the landmark case of Lewington v Motor Insurance Bureau EWHC 2848. In this case the High Court ruled that the MIB must comply with the applicable EC directive and award compensation to our client who had sustained serious injuries caused by an off-road vehicle, namely a “dumper-truck”. This was a landmark verdict as the MIB previously refused to pay compensation when injuries were caused by an off-road vehicle.
In 2018, I was shortlisted for the Business Support Professional of the Year at Manchester Young Talent Awards.
In 2020, I became an Ambassador for Slater and Gordon.
Nicole and Victoria in particular have been amazing, they’ve been extremely supportive throughout and guided me with the very best advice. I cannot be more thankful for their hardworking efforts which has resulted in me knowing that no matter what, I will be able to maximise the full support I need in my future without worry.
