Get to know Michelle

I studied law at Lancaster University, graduating in 2008. I thereafter spent six years working in costs litigation but decided to change specialisms in 2015. I achieved a commendation in my legal practice course, trained with a Legal 500 firm in Manchester, and now specialise in wills, tax, trusts and probate work.

I aim to work in a calm, practical manner with my clients, taking a straightforward approach in explaining legal concepts. I build a working relationship with my clients and adapt the way in which I work to suit their needs and expectations.

I'm a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and am currently working towards obtaining the STEP Diploma in trusts and estates; the benchmark, professional qualification recognised by the private client industry.

To date, I have obtained the STEP Advanced Certificate in estate administration and the STEP Advanced Certificate in trust administration.

The extra mile

I provide commentary on current affairs for publications upon request. Most recently I've been published in Cumbria Life Magazine and worked with the charity Hourglass on a piece relating to economic abuse in the older generation.
