Get to know Meryl
Following on from an undergraduate degree in translation & Interpreting, I completed a Graduate Diploma in Law and a Masters in Legal Practice and Advanced Drafting. Whilst studying I worked as a litigation paralegal and then completed my two-year period of recognised training within the public sector.
During my two years training I completed the Higher Rights of Audience qualification which allows me to conduct my own advocacy and represent clients in the Senior Courts throughout England and Wales.
I joined Slater and Gordon’s well renowned employment team as a newly qualified solicitor in September 2022. I advise employees with both contentious and non-contentious matters including disciplinary and grievance issues, unfair and wrongful dismissal claims, redundancy and discrimination. I strive to provide clear advice tailored to a client’s particular needs and requests.
The extra mile
I have worked with the Junior Lawyers Division, Aspiring Solicitors, Lawyers with Disabilities Division and Legal Services Board advocating for diversity and inclusion with particular emphasis on disability.
Also, I volunteered with Cardiff Employment Tribunal providing guidance to litigants in person and witnesses on Tribunal procedures, format and etiquette.
