I became a solicitor to make a difference. Giving thousands of consumers a voice through our collective actions, shows large corporations that they're not above the law.
Get to know Kiran
I am a solicitor in the collective actions department and I currently work on the Volkswagen emissions collective action, which is one of the UK’s largest ever group actions before the High Court.
As a solicitor, I want to do meaningful work and hold companies to account and show that they are not above the law. That's why I chose to work at Slater and Gordon, having been at the firm for over six years. I qualified as a solicitor in April 2018, following the completion of my training contract which included seats in the employment and medical negligence departments.
Prior to working on the Volkswagen emissions collective action, I represented various SME clients on matters in relation to the mis-selling of complex financial products against national retail banks, and claims involving the mis-selling of pension investment schemes on behalf of consumers.
Career highlights
Acting on behalf of over 70,000 claimants against a multinational automotive manufacturer in an action commonly known as the VW NOx emission collective action, which is one of the largest and most high-profile collective actions in the High Court.
Another highlight of mine was working on the trial and preparation for appeal of a leading claim in relation to the mis-selling of complex structured derivatives, Crestsign Limited v National Westminster Bank Plc and The Royal Bank of Scotland [2014].
The extra mile
I'm a member of The Law Society Junior Lawyers Division as well as a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
Kiran is dedicated, responsive, and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of her cases. She is calm under fire even in the most testing situations. She is a pleasure to work with.
