Experience Profile

Kiran is a trainee solicitor in the employment law team at Slater and Gordon Lawyers in London.

She is in her second seat and assists solicitors on a variety of claims including, unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing. Kiran assists the team with research, attending the Employment Tribunal for Preliminary Hearings, drafting documents and liaising with clients and external parties.

Prior to the commencement of her Traineeship in September 2016, Kiran worked in the Group Litigation team for over two years, advising on cases regarding the mis-selling of interest rate derivatives and has gained in-depth knowledge and experience in this area. Kiran assisted on the leading case in this area, Crestsign Limited v National Westminster Bank Plc and The Royal Bank of Scotland [2014] which settled in February 2016, before the appeal which was listed for April 2016.

Kiran also handled a caseload of her own involving the mis-selling of pension investments scheme and made complaints on behalf of clients to the Financial Ombudsman Service and Financial Services Compensation Scheme. She successfully recovered compensation on behalf of a number of her clients.

Kiran graduated with a 2:1 LLB Hons degree from Oxford Brookes University before undertaking the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford and graduating with a Commendation.
