Slater and Gordon renew their partnership with Brake

Slater and Gordon have renewed their partnership with road safety charity, Brake, becoming their largest legal panel supporter by number of regions

24 January 2025

Slater and Gordon are continuing their commitment to improving the safety of our roads by renewing their partnership with road safety charity, Brake, becoming their largest legal panel supporter by several regions in Brakes National Road Victim Service (NRVS).

This investment highlights our commitment to continuing to support those who have sustained serious or life-changing injuries or who have suffered a bereavement due to road traffic collisions.

Every day five people are killed on the UK's roads, with more than 80 people becoming seriously injured. Brake has a vision of a world with zero road death and injury, where we can all move in a safe and healthy way, whoever we are and however we travel. Until their vision becomes a reality, they are working tirelessly to stop crashes on our roads, reduce harm when a crash happens, and help every road victim get the support they need, for as long as they need it.

Tracey Benson, Head of Serious Injury – South says: "The work of Brake in advocating for road safety, and supporting families affected by tragedy, is truly life-changing. As lawyers who sadly see the devastation caused by road collisions all too often, we know first-hand the impact Brake make to the lives of those impacted, and in pushing for change more widely to help protect all road users.

"Over many years, Slater and Gordon has built a strong relationship with Brake through our shared commitment to client care and making positive change to road safety, and we are very pleased to renew our partnership. We are now Brake's largest legal panel supporter, which reflects how committed we are to this relationship, and to building it further still."

Principal Lawyer, Jenny Keith, also comments on the partnership: “I am proud to be working with Brake who work tirelessly with families and individuals who have been affected by serious injury or the loss of a loved one due to the consequence of road traffic collisions. It is vitally important to assist those affected at the earliest opportunity and to provide support and guidance at this stressful time.

Brake is an advocate for those affected as well as campaigning for change to make the lives of all road users safer, and it is a privilege to be working with them.”

Stephen Goodman, Travel Litigator, further comments: “It’s a privilege to be involved with a charity that takes such pride in their vision, and who help so many people affected by death, or serious injury, caused by road traffic collisions. In my career, I have seen many road traffic collisions, both in the UK and abroad, and understand the impact they have on the individual and their loved ones.”

At Slater and Gordon, we understand just how important the support and guidance Brake provides to those living with the effects of road collisions, which is why we’re proud to be one of their legal service partners and provide families with the legal guidance, support and compassion necessary at what's often a very difficult time.

As Brake’s largest legal panel member, it enables those who have sustained serious injuries or families who have sadly been bereaved, access to legal experts who fundamentally understand these life changing circumstances. Our national focus on road safety is complemented by our in-house rehabilitation team and relationships across emergency services, major trauma centres and leading neuro and spinal centres, providing our clients access to wide ranging support as part of our representation of them in their legal claim.
