A charity which delivers therapeutic activities for children and young people with neurological conditions has partnered with law firm Slater and Gordon to increase the support for families who access its specialist services.

Rainbow Hub works with young people who have physical disabilities as a result of brain injury or other neurological issues, and also delivers support to their families. Since 2001, the Lancashire-based charity has supported as many as 85 families per week.

From its purpose built site in Mawdesley, which includes a school, Rainbow Hub delivers a range of activities to help children develop to achieve their individual potential. This includes conductive education, movement support, and hands-on therapies.

The charity has now partnered with law firm Slater and Gordon to help in its ongoing service development, and increase the support on offer to its families.

As well as being appointed to Rainbow Hub’s legal panel, Slater and Gordon will also deliver education sessions to the charity’s staff, volunteers and families, as well as holding clinics to enable families to access free support on matters including clinical negligence, education, employment and family law.

Lyndsay Fahey, chief executive of Rainbow Hub, says: "We are delighted that Slater and Gordon have chosen to work in partnership with Rainbow Hub. Their expertise will help make a big difference to the lives of the children and families we support and we look forward to working with them over the coming months.”

Kate Sweeney, principal lawyer at Slater and Gordon, adds: “Rainbow Hub is a fantastic charity which has given life-changing support to children, young people and their families for 25 years – often when other support was hard to find. The difference the Rainbow Hub have made to so many families who are living with disabilities really cannot be underestimated.

“We are really pleased to partner with Rainbow Hub to help support its amazing work, and to be able to use our legal expertise for the benefit of the charity and its families.”
