Manchester based law firm Slater and Gordon has announced 23 promotions across its general law practice, as part of a growth strategy for both its personal and business legal services divisions.
The promotions come as a result of expansion of the firm’s services, including the addition of estate planning, employment law, family law, children services, business advisory and commercial property teams to new locations in England, Wales and Scotland.
The personal legal services division, the consumer facing practice areas, will now be headed up by Amanda McAlister, who previously led the family law team.
Business legal services will be headed by Stephen Lintott, who previously led the commercial property team. Amanda and Stephen support Siri Siriwardene, Head of General Law, in delivering the growth plan across the UK.
The senior appointments include Danny Varney who has been promoted to national practice group leader of business advisory, Craig McAdam to national practice group leader of dispute resolution and James Beresford to national practice group leader of wills, trust, tax and probate.
Head of General Law, Siri Siriwardene, said: “We are very keen to recognise the exceptional talent we have within our teams as we expand and build the services we offer to cater for the growing demand for our highly specialised legal services.
“It is vital that we continue to be able to provide career growth opportunities throughout our UK offices, as a result of the on-going success of both our private client and business law practices.”
In total, eight business legal services lawyers, one group litigation lawyer and 14 personal legal services lawyers from teams across the full spectrum of the general law practices have been promoted.
The new senior lawyers are based in locations across the country including, London, Manchester, Watford, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Chester and Edinburgh.
