“Andrew Nye’s reckless actions had devastating consequences for our two beautiful daughters.
“Katrina and Karlina were happy, active children and he has robbed them of that.
“We will never be able to forgive him. No sentence will be enough.
“Every day they ask ‘when will we start feeling our legs again?’ They think it’s going to get better and it’s too hard to tell them.”
Richard Langton, a serious injury specialist from law firm Slater and Gordon, who is representing the family in a civil action, said: “This is one of the most heartbreaking cases I have ever had to deal with.
“This tragic case should serve as a warning to other motorists that dangerous driving can and does wreck lives.”
“The horrifying footage from this crash captures the moment two little girls were left paralysed for life. Tragically, they will never walk again.
“That is why their parents, who were also injured, have agreed to release it to the public in a bid to show the devastating consequences of such reckless, dangerous driving.
“Nay showed a total disregard for other people on the roads that day and these two innocent children paid the price. Their world has been turned upside down. He will serve time behind bars for his crime, but sadly no sentence can undo the damage caused.
“The footage is shocking to watch, but it sends a powerful message. Road rage destroys lives.”
