Slater and Gordon Solicitor Runs NYC Marathon in aid of Abuse Survivors

Slater and Gordon abuse solicitor Jessica Standley has completed the New York Marathon in aid of NAPAC – the National Association of People Abused in Childhood.

As a solicitor who has represented survivors of abuse for over three years now, Jessica has seen the lasting effects that abuse can have and was very keen to help NAPAC, an organisation dedicated to helping people affected by abuse.

Jessica overcame a number of injuries in the run up to the big race, but as she described in her New York marathon blog, she was determined to keep training to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. Despite sustaining an injury just days before the marathon began, Jessica persisted and completed the race in the excellent time of 4 hours, 41 minutes and 33 seconds.

The marathon was held in New York City on 1 November 2015, and Jessica raised over £3,000 for NAPAC.

Jessica will present the money to NAPAC later this year and wishes to thank everyone who donated and supported her through the challenge.
