Woman seeks damages for discrimination and unfair dismissal

Compensation is being sought by a woman from her former boss for unfair dismissal and discrimination.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 51-year-old professional has taken her ex-manager at a trade union to an employment tribunal on the basis that he subjected her to unjust treatment from 2007 onwards.

For instance, the 51-year told the hearing in Croydon that the man criticised her parenting skills earlier this year after finding out her daughter had converted to Islam and also had a picture of her as his computer screensaver.

The claimant alleges that such inappropriate behaviour began five years ago when her boss would "demand hugs and kisses from me" and get upset and angry when she refused.

Such incidents then gradually became more serious and he even suggested that he, the claimant and her daughter could engage in sexual activity together, meaning she is alleging he was guilty of harassment, as well as victimisation and unfair dismissal.
