College set to implement widespread redundancies
Expert employment advice may be required by a group of education professionals in the south of England after it emerged they have been offered redundancy packages.
Many staff at the K College - which has campuses across Kent in locations such as Tunbridge Wells, Ashford and Dover - look set to lose their jobs in the near future, online resource Kent News reports.
The college experienced losses of £16 million during the 2011-12 financial year and is therefore eager to implement widespread efficiency savings in the coming weeks and months.
As such, the institution has announced that it needs to impose a significant number of job cuts in the coming months, but has insisted the redundancies will total "no more than 168".
In an attempt to limit the number of people it has to force out of their position, the K College has made voluntary redundancy available to all staff members and is also encouraging individuals to "reduce their hours and to seek job share opportunities".
