A severe head injury sustained during a road traffic accident has resulted in a compensation claim being launched on behalf of a teenager.
Bethany Probert - who is now 16-years-old - sustained multiple injuries, including a broken collarbone, damage to her lungs and life-changing head trauma when she was hit by a car in December 2009, the Northampton Chronicle & Echo reports.
At the time of this incident, the girl was walking between the tarmac and grass verge of Abthorpe Road near Silverstone when she was clipped by a vehicle being driven by Paul Moore.
Consequently, her mother Joanna Probert has now started proceedings against Mr Moore at the High Court in London, although the motorist denies liability for the collision.
Christopher Purchas QC, representing the claimant, told the court Mr Moore was late for work and was subsequently driving too fast in dark conditions in the early morning, but the defendant says this is not the case.
