The family of a man who passed away in a fatal accident at work earlier this week (June 20th) could decide to launch a compensation claim on his behalf.
Gary Currie of Baillieston died at the age of 39 from a severe head injury sustained when the cherry-picker he was working on at a project at Buchanan House in Glasgow collapsed.
Despite the presence of the emergency services, Mr Currie passed away at the scene of the accident and a formal investigation to establish how the vehicle collapsed has now been started.
The Health and Safety Executive and Strathclyde Police will work together to ascertain whether or not his employer - One Stop Safety Systems - is at fault for the incident.
If this proves to be the case, Mr Currie's family are likely to be eligible to claim for damages.
In a statement, the firm noted: "Our sympathies are extended to the family of our employee, Gary Currie, who was killed in the industrial accident."
