Widow to launch industrial disease claim?
An industrial disease claim could be launched by a widow after it emerged a loved one passed away due to an asbestos-related disease.
According to Lynn News, David Britton died at the age of 63 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn on January 2nd this year and the inquest into his death has now confirmed this was caused by mesothelioma.
The former electrician's wife Yvonne told the hearing her husband had been diagnosed with the lethal condition in December 2011 after he was admitted to hospital due to respiratory issues.
And coroner William Armstrong has now concluded it is "more likely than not" his mesothelioma had been caused by the fact he was exposed to asbestos at some stage during his 40-year career.
This comes after it emerged that laboratory testing company Exova has put its employees in danger of coming into contact with asbestos at its plant on Tyneside.
