Life-changing injuries sustained during a road traffic accident have resulted in a schoolgirl seeking a six-figure compensation sum from her mother.
According to the London Evening Standard, ten-year-old Cansu Ozkan required multiple operations on facial, leg and wrist injuries after she was hurt in a car crash in Eltham on January 1st 2009.
The ten-year-old's mother Ceyda Ozkan was driving her and her stepsister Filiz - who died in the incident - home from a family party when she crashed into a tree and was subsequently found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Ms Ozkan was jailed for four years in February 2010 as she was also found to be over the legal drink-drive limit at the time of the accident.
Consequently, her daughter - who also contracted MRSA while in hospital and faces more surgery when she is 18 - is now seeking compensation for her ordeal.
